Frogtastic Frogs #2

Created by Studio Appeltjesgroen

We need more semi-realistic frogs and toads! There are loads still to unlock and get stunning enamel pins of, for those who love frogs just as much as I do. With added on salamanders and newts. US Backers are welcome!

Latest Updates from Our Project:

Fully funded + New stretch goals 🐸
about 2 months ago – Fri, Jan 23, 2026 at 11:24:24 AM

Ribbits everyone!

What an amazing start to the campaign in the first 24 hours! Thank you all so much for the support from the start!!

We've fully funded so that means all 15 amphibians are available to choose from when the campaign ends. And every backer that pledges 3+ pins gets a set of tadpoles mini pins added for free! (These are also available as a purchasable reward.) You can switch from pledge levels if you wish to qualify for this set of free mini pins.

Extra stretch goals

The campaign is active for another 20 days so let's try to unlock some extra stretch goals I've prepared!
To begin with three big pins for three big amphibians: Giant salamander, American bullfrog and Cane toad. The last two goals are for the axolotl fans: each goal unlocks two different axolotl shapes with different colour variants. The first unlocks the Leucistic axolotl and the Dirty Lucy axolotl. (Pink and pink with dusty spots on their face.) The last goal does the same but then for the Wild axolotl and the Heavily marked melanoid axolotl (brown spotted and very dark almost black variants.)

New pledge level

For those who wish to pledge for all the available pins (including the new stretch goals when unlocked) I've added a pledge level called 'Whole pond - one of each'!
With this pledge level you will literally get one of each unlocked amphibian and you don't need to specify later on when the surveys are send out after the campaign ended. (You will still receive the survey for address, combined shipping or add-ons.)

Perfect for those who just wants the full collection! (In case we don't reach the €10.000 goal I will update you in advance to take steps if needed.)

Last year I was so surprised with how well Frogtastic Frogs went so this time we prepared a bit more, with extra amphibians in the first goal list and already though out for the stretch goals. I assume that this is enough until the end, but in case you all would like to prove me wrong, (hehe) we can always make some polls for other amphibians to turn into pins! So feel free to leave a suggestion in the comments below, I will take all suggestions with me, even if that means it's for the next project.

Previous pin designs available

For those who missed my summer project with Poison dart frogs and Salamanders: these are available as an add-on! The add-on is called: 'One previous amphibian pin (previous projects)'. Both Frogtastic Frogs 1 and the Poison dart frogs and Salamanders are available in that add-on. A great way to make your collection complete if you missed out on it!

Other news: I received the enamel pins of the poison dart frogs and salamanders this afternoon, so let me share a picture of them! Fulfillment will start one of these days so for those who backed the original project, keep an eye out on your mail box!

And that's it for this update. Thank you all so much for the support, the great responses and the fun DM's over on social media. I love that you are as enthusiastic about this all as I am! 🐸

Have a frogtastic weekend!

Tomorrow is the day! Full frog overview
about 2 months ago – Wed, Jan 21, 2026 at 08:07:05 AM

Ribbits everyone!

Tomorrow it's launch day and I wanted to share a full overview of what to expect! Grab something to drink and let's see what we got.

First up, Roundbirbart and I are working together again

If you back both of our projects you will get two exclusive pins with a field research book theme added for free. A Herpetology book from me and a Field guide for birbs from Roundbirbart. Be sure to check out her project as well if you love Birds of North America!

We are also again offering combined shipping

Just like last year, you will pay shipping (and tariffs if you are an US backer) at the survey of Birds of North America, while the shipping costs will be ommitted at the survey of Frogtastic Frogs #2. (Tariffs will be calculated and have to be paid during the survey.) Roundbirbart and I are local to each other so we will join forces to pack all the orders together.
This is an opt-in in the survey of Frogtastic Frogs #2! More info will be presented in the survey.

US backers are welcome

Luckily we have the option to ship to the US again so US backers are welcome! Different from last year is tariffs We will collect and remit these tariffs that are active for you, so that you won't be surprised with an additional tariff bill upon receiving your package.
The items in this campaign have China as its country of origin. Currently, tariffs on Chinese items are set to 35%. However, this is subject to change.
Tariffs will be collected during the survey, so please take into account this extra charge.

Early, Returning and Pin Safari freebie stickers

Early backers: for those who back the project within the 48hours qualify for a Early Frog sticker!
Returning backers: for those who back the project and have backed my previous projects qualify for a Returning Frog sticker!
Extra this time is the Pin Safari banner. A collection of projects who got together and designs different polaroids (big vinyl stickers) with depictions of their animals on it. Back 3+ projects in the Pin Safari banner and you will receive the Polaroid of all those backed projects for free. Frogtastic Frogs #2 has a disgruntled looking frog Polaroid! Good to know: Birds of North America are also part of this banner!

First to fund: Colorado river toad

This time around we're gonna try and fund 15 different amphibians! The first amphibian to unlock is the Colorado river toad at €500. After that every extra €250 will unlock another amphibian. Our goal is to reach €5000 to unlock a new set of mini pins of tadpoles! These will be added, for free, to every Backer who pledged to the 3+ pins pledge level. The tadpoles are a new colour way (each shape a different colour than last time) to make it more fun to fill up a amphibian pin board.

Previous project enamel pins are available

Frogtastic Frogs (January 2025) and Poison Dart Frogs & Salamander (August 2025) enamel pins will be available as an add-on. That way you can collect the 6 amphibians that were excluded for US backers last summer. They are also priced the same as during the crowdfunding as an extra sweet deal.

More add-ons, of course

This time you can also get keychains of all the amphibians (Frogtastic Frogs #2 and previous projects) as well as sticker sheets with the new designs on them. There's also an exclusive pre-order with Desert rain frog socks!

Extra stretch goals after €5000

Last year I was pretty shocked at how well the project went. I made extra stretch goals during the project and was rather overworked by the end of it all. So this time, to be prepared I already made 4 extra pin goals in case the original 15 are unlocked quick. These Stretch goals will be specials! Bigger pins with big amphibians on them, like the American bull frog. So we have a lot more to look forward to!

And I believe we have it all covered now!  I want to say 'that's all' but to be honest, it's a lot ahaha. I hope it all goes well and you all like the choices of amphibians we're gonna unlock this year. And maybe you have some suggestions for future projects!
Also, don't get lost in all the 200 projects that go live during Pintopia!

In case you wanna share the project, you can repost this one on BSKY! Where I will also update during the project.

Full amphibian line up 🐸✨ 9 days left!
about 2 months ago – Tue, Jan 13, 2026 at 02:05:13 AM

Ribbits everyone!

We're only 10 days away from the launch of Frogtastic Frogs #2!

Getting pretty exited for it and I wanted to share the full line up of amphibians in their complete colourful finished piece! A total of 15 amphibians to unlock this time around, 3 more than last time. With 3 toads, 7 frogs, 2 newts and 3 salamanders! (And if we unlock all of these very early on I'll have stretch-stretch goals set up for more amphibians!)

During Pintopia we have several special sub Banners where you can get something extra! Frogtastic Frogs #2 is in the banner Pin Safari and if you back 3+ projects in that banner you will receive an exclusive Polaroid vinyl sticker from each backed project. Frogtastic Frogs #2 polaroid has a very disgruntled frog on it!

All that's left is to finish up the Early and Returning Backer freebie vinyl stickers. These I will share closer to the start of the project along with a full overview of possible pledge levels, add-ons, freebie incentives and the cross collab freebie enamel pin!

Have a newt-tastic week everyone!

Reveal | All amphibians and their goals
2 months ago – Sun, Jan 04, 2026 at 08:28:52 AM

Ribbits everyone,

Hopping into your mailbox to update you all about the Frogtastic Frogs #2 project that goes live January 22nd! Important good news: US Backers are welcome!

It's a long list! This time around I prepared for 16 amphibians to unlock. Last year we unlocked the first 12 so quick I wanted to be a bit more prepared.

As you can see not all have their colours yet, I'm currently finishing them up while finish other deadlines for Frogtastic Frogs #2 as well. The tadpoles will be the same shapes of tadpoles as Frogtastic Frogs #1 but now in a different colour way. Hope this will be another fun board filler extra!

Freebies

Early and Returning backers will both get an exclusive vinyl sticker for free if they qualify for it. (Early backers will get a frog leaning on a branch. Returning backers will get a stack of 3 frogs on top of each other.)
And I've joined the Pin Safari banner, which means if you back 3+ projects in that banner you will get the freebie polaroid sticker from those projects added as well! (The polaroid shows a very disgruntled frog being lifted up between fingers.)

Stretch-stretch goals

In case it goes just as frogtastic as last year I have already thought and set up extra stretch goals for €6000 to €10.000 goals. These will be focused on very big amphibians: Giant salamander, American bull frog and Cane Toad. I'd like to test and try out bigger than 5cm (2 inch) enamel pins for those.

The last two goals will be for Axolotl. One will be the Leucistic and Dirty Lucy variants (yes 2 in one goal!), and the very last will be Wild and the Heavily marked melanoid variants (yes, 2 in one goal again).

And that's it for now!
Lots of information, I hope you are all excited for another Frogtastic Frogs! Your support would mean a lot with making these amazing amphibians enamel pins a reality.

Have a toadally awesome day

Exclusive socks and extra freebie
3 months ago – Mon, Dec 22, 2025 at 09:07:26 AM

Ribbits everyone,

A short update with a sneak peek of two extra's that are available when the project is live!

For this project I'd like to make Frogtastic Frogs socks and so one sock design will be available for pre-order. The artwork is a work in progress as of right now but the idea and the concept is there. Grumpy Desert rain frogs on your feet, bound to be cute.
It will be available as an add-on pre-order in sizes S, M and L.

Another fun extra is that Frogtastic Frogs is part of the banner Pin Safari!
If you back 3+ projects in the same banner you will get the exclusive 3.5" polaroid sticker from those projects added for free.

Good to know is that Birds of North-America, my cross-collab partner Roundbirbart, is also part of this banner. So backing us both means you get the cross-collab freebie, combined shipping if you wish (instructions in the Frogtastic Frogs survey) AND you qualify for the polaroid freebie sticker from both of us as well! (I'm almost starting to feel like Santa, giving so much extra's.) When Pintopia is live, please check out everyone in the Pin Safari banner for all the fun polaroids!

And lastly I wish everyone Hoppy Holidays and a Frogtastic 2026!
Thank you all for the amazing 2025 and here's to more frogs and amphibians in 2026!
